History

Named for being the biggest room in the platinum area of our hotel, the Cathedral of Tacámbaro is found in the center of the city, its construction began in 1538 when the first stone was laid by Friar Juan de Román and Friar Diego de Chávez, and was finished in 1567 by Friar Juan Bautista de Moya.  With the passing of time it was destroyed by fires and underwent corresponding restorations, and its style is typical of the late 19^th and early 20^th century.  The cathedral is dedicated to Saint Geronimo, and among is principal attractions is an altarpiece of bronze located in the sanctuary, which represents the throne of God.  Our master bedroom has a replica of the stained-glass window of the Cathedral.  Come and get to know it!
